after I posted I whent to look since I was really in the mood for a track day (today I feel better) plus a trip to the bank told me tha I am broke enough to be able to commute with my bicycle if I bite it at the track... nice reality check...

Anyway cheapest school I found was 650 for one day, up to 2200 for 2 days. track days as expensive as 390! for the cheapest...

Damn, that's expensive.

Here in Italy there is the Loris Capirossi riding school, it is a mix between a safe riding school and a fast riding school, and if you take your own bike it costs "only" 240 euros. If you want to do a specialized fast riding course with the same school it is 500 euros.

What you spend on track days depends mostly on the track... some are relatively cheap, you can get away with 150 euros for a day... others are real expensive, like Monza, where you pay 50 euros for half an hour

I would love to ride at laguna seca... but then again I would also like to ride at the monte carlo circuit...

do you know why mototrcycles don't race there? I would absolutely love to go see an F1 race there.
Not to mention Home country to Ferrari

my new rear fender is finally here! I have to take the seats, the rear body work, and the tank and reroute all the electronics to the back... just to change it out! The guy who had it made a horrible cutting job and one of the turn signals if half falling off!

It should not take me longer than 1.5 hours!

I have ridden 200+ mile loops and been fine at the end of the day... but 20 minutes on the freeway and my right wrist begins to complain...

I too had a hard time the first week I had my first bike.. I gess I had to get used to it cause I had an EX 500 and the ergos on that where a bit more upright...
The universal throttle lock they sell at cyclegear (should be one in your area) fits our bike well with a little filing and costs $35. Well worth it if you are going long distances at constant speeds.

Awesome! that is great to know! I really try to avoid highway riding.
1. no twisties...
2. constant boring speed...
3. Where are the darn twisties!!!!

plus there is usually one person that will want to race you... rice rocket, stang, roush, or the odd navigator... I HATE IT!

Give me the twistie way any day!

here it is a little over $100

but then you have to add in the cost of driving 4 hours to the track and everything else.

I cant believe you complained about the drive to the track day!!!

Its the track! where else can you safely speed, take your machine to the limmit, go to your limmit, and without any worries?

I cant wait until I buy another bike so I can go to the track... saving every penny I can!
I would understand the drive back home........

so... I found today that my bike will power weelie!

I got the front weel up very very unespectedly today no small thing either! about 2 feet! or maybe 2.5 at the same time I was parallel to the guy I was riding with (it was right after a stop sign) the guy has had a bike for 3 days!!! I freaked out!!

1. I really was not planning on weeling it.
2. I didnt want to freak him out!
3. since I knew I was right next to him I leaned to the right (away from him) let the front down a bit hard right on the white line with a 6 inch shoulder..

now I will definately be more careful with the bike, I don't want to weelie... although it felt pretty darn nice!

Careful...When I first got my bike I did the same thing...Not that big but it scared me. Since then I avoid it. It was a rush I was not prepared for.
