Default my bike is very very fast..

I just finished braking in my bike and I wondered how fast I could go in second gear... I chose second cause on my EX500 I could do 60mpg just at indicated redline

so I got on the freeway and as I sped up I made sure to change to second gear.... then opened up the throttle...

an amazing sound came out from under me! My bike was screeeaming! I was looking at the road and then I suddently looked down... im doing 13k rpm (1500rpm below the redline) and I look and I seemed doing about 20 mph more than I should have been doing on the freeway while just barely keeping up with traffic...

This ofcourse only took like 3 seconds.. then I shifted through the gears counting to make sure I had done this in second...

I wonder is it too fast?... I can only imagine what a 636 can do! or to go out there far away from the 600 cc range a zx10r!

Darrell did like 100 in second, or maybe even first, on his ZX10.

Yeah, bikes are pretty amazing these days, particularly the Kawis.

I have done 70+ in second but I stopped because I felt like I was going to do something I would regret.

The 500 will redline at 60 in second and redline at 80 in third....

the thing is it will take a while to get up there!

But I whent from 30 to 85 in like 2 or 3 seconds!!!! all on the same gear!!!

I am still getting used to the power, but I keep being amazed by my bike!

its only a 600cc with 6 year old technology!!! its not even fuel injected!!

by the way... 70, or 100 in first is simply insane!!! It kinda makes me want to get a liter bike!... But I would only use it for the track since well.. I would always be speeding on it! lol not on purpose!

my neighbor has a turbocharged hayabusa...I cant even imagine how sickeningly fast that bike must be.

I dont even think I've taken my ex 500 above 8k rpm and its more than fast enough for me.

Most people have a tendency to underrate our little ZZRs... once you hit 5500+, it's all muscle under there. I know I'm not dissappointed.

I believe the zzr is the last model zx with maybe some de-tuning, not sure about the de-tuning part. and the body work.

the zzr is the old 2002 zx6r, displacement is 599 and is carbed...

no FI untill the 03 zx6rs

I love my zzr.... It is amazing! I have never underrated it at all! I knew I was going to get a faster bike when I upgraded from the ex 500 to the zzr 600... But it amazes me just how much faster it is!!!

judjing by its looks and me speeding off away from them my friends, they though it was a carbed version, less track prepped, than the current zx6rr.

Yesterday I got on the freeway and got to 12000 rpm indicated in first gear and I looked down and I was doing 60mph!!!!!

Taking turns is awesome too.. this bike is not just about raw power.... turns that I know I would not make with me EX500 I can make on the zzr...

the riding position.. although not as agressive as the zx6r 636 is a bit hard on the wrists...

and like I have mentioned many times... I have yet to find the tourer part of this sport tuorer bike...

So far I have only noticed the difference on the insurance lol!

Ive been riding my 05 636 for a little over a week now. For the first few days it killed my wrists... then I learned how to sit on the damn thing.. hold on with your legs and adjust your back. After that, everything from accelerating, braking and turning was 1000x easier.

the only problem I get is the freeway... my right wrist feels it a lot! unless I am lane splitting and varying my speed it is really hard on it for some reason... my left is fine...

twisties... provided I have the energy, I can ride them the entire day! both wrists are fine...

I have ridden 200+ mile loops and been fine at the end of the day... but 20 minutes on the freeway and my right wrist begins to complain...

I too had a hard time the first week I had my first bike.. I gess I had to get used to it cause I had an EX 500 and the ergos on that where a bit more upright...

it is pretty much the same bike.. just upgraded brakes (from the Zx6r).. and so far that is it... it is sexy as he!! slim. small, although it feels a ton bigger than the EX but really lane splitting and such is no problem... and it is about the same weight as the EX but with twice the power... (so you know you cant go wrong)

I am glad I learned on the EX before I jumped on this... I though the EX was fast for me I only bought this one cause I love the looks and it would be far more deppendable than my old EX 500. I have not yet grown accustomed to its power.. but atleast I dont find my self speeding... I really like its power... it is something so intense!.. it feels soo nice when it is leaned over...

the only draw back is that I dont feel speed... If I dont have enough money for many track days and a 02 zx6r but the end of 08 I will buy a ninja 250 for the local twisties... just so I can feel the rush of speed out in the twisties...

I wont have much problem keeping up withthe bigger bikes in the twisties... it is just the open spaces I had a problem with on my 500.

Man this thread kicked me in the butt so I had to go to the local Kaw dealer and finally they actually had a black zzr just in still in plastic. drool drool drool I want I want! right around 7500.00 with a couple handling fee's. I did not sit on the bike because I didn't want the owner to come over and yell at me. Unfortunately for me this owner seems to think I am invisible. Seriously....he totally ignored me staring and circling a bike for a good almost 15 minutes and never approached me at all. When I finally approached him he went the other way! Not to thread-jack but I seriously need a new Kaw dealer. I know the Ace Honda wouldn't have done that!
