Cool wheelies are easy... watch the package. lol

did my first wheelie today in a parking lot. Started moving in first gear then ran it up to 10kish rpm and just kind of goosed the throttle about another quarter front end came right up. couple times it would just sort of bounce but i learned that if i leaned back a lil right when i goosed it the front end would come up easier. I wouldn't suggest trying this unless you dont mind replacing body pieces and i only got it up like maybe a foot off the ground then just closed throttle and it went right back down.


p.s.

The first time i did it i also learned to hug the tank with the knees or you will kind of squish things.... lol

for the flamers saying wheelies are for people who have no respect for other people property it was in a empty parking lot and the only thing that would have been damaged if i lost it would be my bike and maybe a lil bit me. lol

Grats! One of these days after I've been riding for a lot longer than I currently have been I will attempt one. I hear there are professional wheelie schools, btw, where they teach you various stunts... always looked like serious fun to me.

my first wheelie was a complete accident. guy at a taco bell pizzed me off in the drive thru, thought I would squeel the tire in the speaker. ended up poping a wheelie and going all the way to the window before setting it down and yes I smashed the boys too. last time I tried a burnout for a while too. never thought you could do a wheelie on an ex500 thill then.

I tried really hard on my ex500 but power alone was not enough

Under hard acceleration from a stand still the front will get light but that is about it.

You will have to use the clutch to do a weelie. while maybe going 10 mph rev the bike up to about 5k or 6k in first gear and then let go of the clutch.. the front should come up!

and unless you open the throttle wide open after that you should have no worries with flipping over... but just in case cover the back brake!

I didnt have the issue of ** getting squished... I tried to have a smooth landing....

is that why your got squished? not a smooth landing?

Actually, when the day does come that I attempt one, I doubt I'll be on the EX500- but you never know I'm not rushing this one- if I were a betting lady, I'd say it will take me at least another 5 yrs of good riding to even try

or the first day you get your up graded bike and are cruisin along on a saturday night and your buddy wheelies by you on his damn R6 and the mustang full of girls stops looking at your bike and chases him that son of a... oh wait sorry that was me.. lol

you are welcome.

It really isnt that difficult.. Plus if or when you upgrade to a bigger bike you will do atleast one...

I know that was the case with me and my zzr the first 600 miles I had it!

or getting your back tire to spin mid turn while you are slightly leaned onver... which my ex did it only when I really meant for it to happen.. the zzr will do it if I am riding a bit more agressively... like if I am in a hurry! lol

When that wheel starts coming up, ya got to stand up. Then ride her out. When I had the h2 750, I would drop down two gears and jump on the throttle, the front end would come up and as long as I stood up with it, the bike would stay on the rear wheel.

Did you stagger your feet when you stood up or did you just stand up on the regular pegs... i'm having the toughest freakin time to clutch it up in 2nd. lol 1st gear clutches are getting easier but i'm nervous with those.. dont want to loop it.

I just used the regular foot pegs. The first time it happened I was not prepared, but after a couple of times it was automatic in response as to what to do. You should be able to feather the throttle to give some control of the wheelie also.

learned how to do wheelies when i was a kid on dirtbikes,dirt hurts mch less than concrete when your young anyway!got my 1st basketcase z1 900 in summer of 79 when i was 14 around 15 when i got it drivable.learned that that 900 had a lot more power than my 125 hodaka and could wheelie and drop me off the back onto my *** anytime it wanted!hehehe
