Thought this would be interesting.
I'm only in my second season, so I'm always learning. Would rather it be the easy way, than the hard way. Concerning motorcycles, what is the ONE most important piece of advice you would want to pass on? Just one. Let others have a chance to get your second. The most important piece of advice I ever received and would want to pass on is: People in cars are trying to kill you. No matter how many times I go past a traffic situation where the car actually does the right thing, I never ever become lax in the thought that they are still going to try and get me. I expect them to pull out, cut me off, etc. What's yours? Mike |

There's the clutch, shifter - 1 down, 3 up, throttle, front brake, back brake. Try not to crash it.

Very sound advice so far!!!!
Never ever let your guard down no matter what time or where your riding because anything can happen in a split second. Myself, I constantly got my "radar" working, scanning side to side, up ahead and even checking the mirrors frequently. By doing this, I have avoided possible "situations" that have happened or were going to happen up ahead (knocking on wood here). If a car/truck/van/suv looks like he/she is going to pull out in front of you, chances are they will. Lucky...

Number 1 thing to do. This is after forgetting to have a 12 second picture of traffic ahead, after forgetting to keep a 4 second zone of awareness, and after forgetting about your space cushion.
Number 1 on the list is LOOK WHERE YOU WANT TO GO. And when your having trouble balancing in a u-turn, crank your head around and.......Yep. You guessed it, look where you want to go. Later, Charlie |

Expect the unexpected.
I always look into the cars on the side and in front of me. If the cagers are looking in the sideview mirrors, rear view or cranking their heads, that means they want to come over and I expect it. I also try to stay in front of the people so they can see me, not on the side of them. keep em both down ken |
