First and last new bike. A 2001 Yamaha YZ426. At last I could ride a bike more than I had to work on it. There is nothing like the sound and acceleration of a big four stroke single. Hurt myself plenty on that beast. Still have it and love it. I say last because I have so many expensive hobbies I will probably never again be able to justify a new one. Plus, I kinda like being different... Anyone can buy a new bike...

I inherited grandpa's Whizzer. That was some experience! Then a 175 enduro. I had an awful time keeping the front wheel down on that one. Never had a new bike. As expensive as used is getting I may get new in a few years.

Hey Oz Saki, I had that same bike back in 1970. Coverted it to a moto cross bike and raced for a year on it. Moved up to a YZ250 then a YZ 400 punched to 420. Raced for five years but it was the little 125 that started it all. Great bike.

My first new bike is my current one...900 Classic purchased in Sep 06.
It's easy to figure out my lifetime (motorcycle) mileage....all I have to do is look at my odometer.

My first bike was a Honda 50 back in mid 60's when I was in my early teens. Man....did I do some stupid stuff on that bike. Went up to a Kawasaki 350 when I got my license. Bought a Kawasaki Mach III 500 just after I got married and kept it for a few years. Another Honda in the mid 80's....750 Four which I kept about 2 years. Now I'm back with the 1500 Classic Kawasaki. 52 years old and had 5 bikes, so I should be good to go till I hit 60....

First bike was an Allstate Moped back in '67. My first "real" motorcycle was a Moto Guzzi 125cc Stornello (1960 if I remember) - also got that upgrade in 1968.

My first new bike was a 2006 ninja 250. Got it August 2006. Still got it but I refuse to buy another new bike. I prefer to buy a used with no more than 1000 miles on it. Why? Because it is freshly broken in and had its service done, and when I get on it, I can rip it. I hate waiting to break the motor in before you can really dog it.

aftermath4788 I got to agree with you on the used bike approach as I have had too many used bikes to count and they have all ran pretty well. Breaking in my new ninja was sort of a pain as I did all the service to it myself. It still feels good though to have a bike no one else has had a chance to abuse and all the parts are still on it LOL I will probably buy new from now on as I like being the first owner. I guess I am spoiled now.
