To make yourself more noticeable to traffic ahead, could you put a mini-strobe light on or around your headlight? I have seen strobes on the rear of sportbikes that flash red whenever the brakelight is on.

I'd check with your local PD as to the legality of strobe headlights in your state. Modulator headlights are legal in AZ as are the LED tail light bulbs

I agree. There isnt a law that says you cant put more headlights on though. Strobes are usually only for government or emergency vehicles.

I'm not sure a strobe on your front light would be much safer. More distracting than anything else. I can see how the mods for the break lights could be nice though. I tend to flass my break like just before I intend to stop by lightly pulling on the lever but not enough to really break and upset the suspention while turning it on and off.

Quoting the Kriss headlight modulator website:
Headlight Modulators "are legal" if they meet the d.o.t. requirements. Do you need information about the United States Federal Regulations? A copy of these standards may be obtained by writing the d.o.t. in Washington, D.C. or clicking on the following title http://www.access.gpo.gov/nara/cfr/c...eve.html#page1 (enter 49 in the title box, 571 in the part box, 108 in the section box and then click the Retrieve button) (when you get to the page scroll down to paragraph S7.9.4) We cannot assure that these links will not change over time. FMVSS 108 (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) (49 CFR Part 571.108 S7.9.4) allows motorcycle headlight modulation systems in all 50 states provided they comply with the standards set forth in this section. Title 49 USC 30103(b1) (US Codes) prohibits any state from forbidding a system that conforms to FMVSS 108. David
