Default Keys

I bent the key on my bike Saturday. Just sitting in the garage, I was carrying something out and brushed the key and it bent. Sent the wife to the dealer to get a new key made yesterday. My dealer doesnt carry keys or blanks and recommended we try Ace hardware. So dealers dont carry key blanks? Who would have guessed?

Yeh, I bent one last year and went to the locksmith to get one cut. No such luck for me, couldn't get a duplicate cut key to work. I geuss I would have to order one, I hope you have better luck.

I took the ignition lock on my brother's '72 H2 to a local locksmith to see if he could make a key for it and he did. He used the key blank from a honda car. It looks kinda funny and gets alot of comments and confusion since it says Honda on the key, but it works and was only $5.

I got an extra key when I bought my bike so I have a spare that I keep at home but if the original got lost or bent, I'd be looking to get a backup for the inservice backup. Good to let you know of your experience with the dealer.

Go to a lock smith. They always take care of me and should have all the keys you need. Took about 5 min to get it done.

well I went to the hardware store. They had one close, but he really didnt want to use my bent key. I agreed to take it even if it doesnt work. I will have to test it when I get home. Guess I should have made a spare when I first got the bike. I did learn something today!!
