After 10 months, over $200 of parts, and tons of time and frustration, my '75 F11 250 is UP AND RUNNING!

I'll have pics up later. But right now, a summary. I spent some time just running it wide open to burn some crap out of the piston and the exhaust. The smoke was insane. My step-dad took it for a spin, killed it and we had to hill-start it, but we got it back up and running. I tried two u-turns, dropped it on both, fortunately I just bent the shift lever a bit (I bought this thing for $75, so I'm not upset), and scratched my leg up (Seriously, dont' ride in shorts. I had on a helmet, jacket, boots, and gloves, but forgot to put on some blue jeans).

This is definately the most fun I've had in a long time. My baby is finally up and running, and I can finally feel the joy of going 35 MPH down gravel, which is PLENTY fast for me right now. After my next paycheck, I'm buying some overpants.

So folks, even if you're just going down to the store, wear pants. Your skin will thank you!

Seriously, you're right. I dumped my brother's '78 Honda Hawk about 18 years ago, and I was damn glad I had jeans and a leather jacket on...otherwise things could have been a lot worse.

On more than one occasion I've seen young couples drive by my house in shirts, shorts, and sandals...just makes me cringe.
