Thumbs down First Time Dummy

For the first time this morning, I wanted to see what it would be like to ride in heels. Mind you, they are not the stiletto heel, but enough that I should've known better. I bought me a scuff guard from a company out of SC (while at Biker Boyz Weekend) and it has a grip on the bottom (great product), so I figured I'd be okay. I have gotten so used to using my feet to help the bike stop (unlike what I was taught) because I trust my feet more than the brakes on a bike, plus I have this fear of laying my bike down! Anywho, I will never ride in heels 3 in high again unless they are a riding boot. I did pretty well, but my comfort level was not where it should've been. I remember the #1 rule of ankle support, but my mind said I was cute enough to ride with heels. Dumbme!!!!

I often ride in heels. It creeps my wife out, and my buddies pretend like they don't know me; but I feel free inside........

AWe6, you are funny! Literally! LOL!!!
I did feel pretty this morning, but it will be a long time b4 I do it again! There is no rubber sole on the heel, so that took my comfort level, but at least my scuff protector had the sole and a good rubber one at that!

No matter what kind of footwear you have on, you need to stop doing that. It's very, very, very dangerous. If you don't trust your brakes, stop riding the bike until you get them fixed. Seriously.

Dragging your feet is the quickest way to end up with a broken ankle. Put 'em down at the last second as you come to a stop and pick them up as soon as the bike begins rolling. It's not optional.

I read somewhere that the most common motorcycle related injury was ankle injuries... so, I agree... gotta use them brakes, that's why they are there!!

I can do a little more than that, but about 3 inches is the max for me to.

I'd wear my "KISS" boots, but I can't get the 4" sole under the shifter...

I've done it because I didn't have a choice at the time. The morning was okay but driving home, your feet are on fire. The heat from the bike and the pavement hurt. It hurts! Those that ride in flip flops, I am pretty sure, are only going a couple of miles.

I can feel the heat of the engine through my boots, and they're pretty thick leather. Those people who wear flip-flops while riding must have ankles made of asbestos...

You will be happy to know that I made it home safely in the heels the other day and yes, I did feel the heat on my foot because the shoe was open where my arch is. I WON'T BE DOING IT AGAIN! Godsdarling had the best advice, leave a pair at the office. Thanks Darling!
