Today I rode my bike a little and came to a turn that I juust judged wrong, and I low slid my bike. The most puzzling part were my injuries. I fell onto my butt whith my wrist also sliding, it took me about 20 minutes to realize that I landed on my leather wallet. Somehow I kept my torso up so no injuries there. My glove has a bit of wear on the wrist and my butt is perfect, the wallet litteraly saved me a trip to the er. My jeans were in shreads and from now on I'm not going to think about getting on without some leather. I always heard that to wear jeans incase you go down, but I think those jeans protected my skin for about the first inch that I slid.
Well there is a miraculous story of a how a $35 wallet saved me a LOT of time and money, and how of all the place to fall it would be on that tiny piece of leather.

Thank God that you’re ok...
Now when people fuss at me for not wearing gear I can say that I have my wallet in my pocket and if I fall, I'll just aim to land on my arse. Just kidding (kinda)

about 40 years ago; I was on a bike went around a curve turn or whatever memory getting cobwebs, went down and slid on my butt. I had a wallet in the back pocket of my jeans and slid on it just the one side of my butt. The jeans pocket was worn through, the wallet had some damage. No damage to me. Back then I dont recall anyone wearing helmets or any kind of protective gear. I wear all the gear now.

glad youre ok man...i rode in jeans once this past week and i just didnt feel safe at all. i dont have leather gear (textile instead) but i feel much safer in my gear than in jeans. i know falling on pavement while running, jeans dont offer much protection. i wouldnt think theyd hold up at speeds above running on a bike! just be careful out there

Last year when I lowsided I slid on the side of my leg had cash, couple keys, and some change in my pocket.
The road got to that instead of my leg getting rashed in that spot.
