Default make sure to check the chain length

ok well i was installing my new D.I.D. X ring gold chain on my bike. It was a bit long so matched it up to my old chain and cut it. Unfortunately, i had gotten a +2 sprocket in the rear... so i go to put the chain on the sprockets and i am excited cause its one of the last things i have to do before the big inaugral ride! Yep. I cut it too short. LoL. Just goes to show measure TWICE cut ONCE!!!

Your honesty in reporting this little incident is refreshing!

Sorry for the extra hassle... and expense.

Give it to the new pup to chew on - should last a looooooonnnnng time~

Looking forward to seeing pics of your finished ride!
Be SAFE, please.

Don

could you use two master links to make it long enough? I just had to get a 110 link chain for mine (stock is 10 when I went +2...

technically a master link is only a half link that wont connect to it self. You have the inner link and an outer link the master link is only an outer link so you would have to pull the inner part out to connect the two masterlinks togeater (this is kinda hard to explain with out actually seeing the chain but hopfully it helped lol) . You could always buy a chain breaker that pushes the pin out and also pushes it back in. i think they are around 80$ though

I thought that part was inherent in my comment....
