As part of my riding awareness, I have a personal rule. Beware of older men driving cages and wearing a hat. Why, because nobody wears hats anymore so these guys must be old and unaware that nobody wears hats anymore. Besides, it's easier to spot the hat than the grey hair. Every once in a while I get beside a hatter and find out it's some 19yo rapper, but hey, keeps me watching. PS>I had grey hair at 35.

Down here is Florida where all of the old freakin snowbirds come to, me and my friends call them cu tips. Hehe. All of the have that fuzzy ball of white hair. They will kill you too with their horrific northern driving skills too. Haha. One day there was this one cutip who slid across 3 lanes in front of all tons of traffic doing 5 MPH like she owned the road.... yepp, she was from Ohio. LoL. And she has an extra big white fuzzy ball... I had almost 3 minutes to stare at her in disbelief as she almost killed a whole road of people.

I'll tell my Mom to say "HI" when she sees you!

At 60, I take offense to what you said about us older riders.............Now, if I could just remember why I was upset, I would comment on it.

This thread has been a lot of fun.

OMG! Steer clear of old Cadillac Sedan de Villes the snowbirds bought when they retired twenty years ago. Good thing I learned defensive driving way back when. It helps to always have an exit strategy for whatever driving situation. You might call that being paranoid but it doesn't mean they're not out to get you.

Seriously, just ride like someone wants to take your share of the road without your permission. But keep riding.

All of the sunshine states where the snowbirds go are especially challenging.

We get the double whammy with a big University in the middle of town. I almost hate out of town college kids on cell phones worse than snowbirds. Not only do they not know where they are going, but they are oblivious because "OMG, there's a frat party tonight"
