New bike Looking for any info

I just got my new Bike. A 2011 Kawasaki Vulcan Vaquero. If there is anything that you think that I should know I would like the help. If you know of any good mods or extras for the bike that would be nice too.

This is my fist year on a bike. I bought a 1981 KZ 750 to learn on and got 4000 miles on it this summer. So I sold my Atv and bike to buy this one. I love the bike, it looks great and ride even better.

Welcome Jeremy! Glad to have you join us & gratz on your new scoot! Got any pics of your new beast?

A 750 to a 1700 is a healthy step there mate! Have you taken the MSF course?

Ride safe! 8)

Thank you. I will be taking a class soon. My neighbor has been riding with me. He has been on a bike for 20 + years.

A taller windshield is a must for it. I got the 12" OEM shield for a voyager and put it behind the tinted shield. But BAGGERSHIELD makes a pretty cool adjustable windshield for it also that is adjustable between like 7 and 11" or something like that. Mine had the V&H slip ons already on it when I picked it up from the dealer.
I can't be happier with it. Large bike, mileage is figuring usually right at 41. Rides like a dream. 34 days owning it and 3200miles already. Just can't seem to let it sit too long. I got another posting labeled "sold sign is hanging on my new vaquero" I just put a video on that thread of how the pipes sound going 65mph down the highway with no baffles.

Glad to hear that the mileage is better than what is being reported in cruiser mags. Every article I've read has it in the mid to low 30's!

There is even the sound clip of the V&H slip ons without baffles running 65 mph
