Is it possible to drill a hole in the thermostat flang similar to what you would do on old hot rods to allow the water to flow before it actually opened ?

I am not even sure where the thermostat is or how big it is. I thought about putting a small hole in it depending on the size of the flange to allow free flow of the water. I think i read the thermostat doesn't open until 190-200 F.

The purpose of the small hole is for bleeding air when filling the system versus manually having to burp the system. The coolant flow through the hole is not enough for cooling.
