I ride V2k recently but caught virus and looking for sport tournig bike. I've narrowed my searches to Kawasaki Concours 14 and Yamaha FJJR1300 , either one probably would be new one, or 1 yaer old with minimal mileage. Which bike is more reliable, less maintenance required, better wind protection, more fun to ride...I ve owned 2 sport bike before , bought fer cruisers but performance and sport look is still appealing to me. Thanks in advance,

I ride an '07 FJR that I bought new in Jan '08. Stills runs pretty good. Easy to work on, loads of info on the web, bunches of aftermarket stuff if that's what you're into. The only bike I'd sell it for is a '13 and up FJR for the cruise control and electronically adjustable suspension.

Can't help with C14 stuff, never owned one.

The folks at the first one pride themselves as all knowing, all powerful. The last one pride themselves in their vulgarity and rudeness. The middle one is based overseas but is pretty nice about most things.

I owned a 2007 V2K (bought new and had it a few years) and I noticed the service manager at the dealership (who worked for a few manufacturers with a 20+ year history) owned a Concours. I asked him why not a cruser (V2K and otherwise) and he said "buy one (meaning the Concours) and you'll understand". I now own a Concours... and I understand!

I do not own or have ridden either. But what I notice is the Conny is probably more of a "straight up" type bike where the FJR leans more to the sporty side. OK so I googled the 2 bikes. If the correct pics are showing up I honestly cant tell the difference.

In late '07 I researched and shopped and researched again. Some of my observations are in this post (https://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/forum/main-lobby/65030-new-bike-here.html#post971940).

I jotted some notes after purchase in this thread (https://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/forum/main-lobby/65240-cruiser-vs-sport-tourer.html#post975444).

Hope some of this stuff helps.
