Does anyone know if you can change the gears in a shaft drive to reduce engine rpms? 1979 runs 5000 rpms at 60 miles an hour. That is ridiculous. This thing would 170 if it was geared right.

There might be other bikes where the rear gear will interchange but I don't know which ones.
For example, a lot of the Yamaha Venture owners swithc to the Vmax rear to gear it lower. The Venture doesn't get off the line very well and the Vmax rear helps.

170 mph? hee. maybe 130 or so.

I would look into the later KZ1100 shaft drive. I think it has different gearing,
but I'm not sure if those are better or worse than the 1000E.
