.... With a '98 vn800a.... I'm not a bike mechanic but I have a strong mechanical background a nd a desire to wrench my own bike...and I know my limitations. Such as my clutch. I know nothing about changing this clutch. I have a scheduled some time with a local guy fresh from a tech college to change it soon. But I have another problem I need to fix before that. I'll start a new thread for that.

The 800 is a good, reliable bike. Under-rated, IMO.

Welcome to the forum. I agree with fritzi, the 800 is a fine bike. I've owned mine for 13 years now. Runs just great.

First thing you should do is either grab a repair manual for your bike or maintenance switching out a clutch is easy just read the manual do what it says I replaced mine on a 2001 ZX6R

Working on motorcycles is just like working on a car buy a repair manual or maintenance manual and do what it says it's really that easy if you can read lol and welcome to team kawi
