Concours 14 Battery Question

Does anyone know the normal volt range for the stock Concours 14 battery? I have a 2015 Concours that had the battery drained and then jump started. It now charges up to about 14.1 volts when running, and then shows about 12.4 volts when I go to start it a day or two later. It is not having any trouble starting, but I was wondering what the normal volt range should be?

Are you saying that the battery shows 12.4 volts when running a day or two later?

A fully charged battery should check about 12.6 volts before starting. Your meter could be off a little. Afterwards 14.1 volts while running is a good number.

I wouldn't rely on the bike's charging system to bring the battery back to full charge. I would put a charger on the battery to make sure it is fully charged.

No, after it's been sitting a day or two it shows in the 12 range when I go to start it. However, once it is running it almost immediately jumps up to the 14 range.

Cool, thanks!

1. Motorcycle charging system is capable of charging a battery. If it will not, then something is wrong.
2. Battery is showing a little age, but nothing to worry about. To be sure, have a load test done.
3. Charging voltage looks fine.

Great, thanks for your reply. There aren't many Concours posts in this forum, so I wasn't sure if anyone would reply.

Just a quick update: It's now been about 3 months since I jump started the bike after the battery was completely drained, and I haven't had to jump start it again. It's still getting to about 14.1 when running and about 12 something in the (now colder) mornings when starting. Glad I didn't buy a new battery (now watch it die on me tonight).
