Howdy. I have a 1981 KZ650-CSR, but doing an oil change on your bike is the same. I do the job from the RH side of the motorcycle. The oil drain plug is under the engine, forward on the oil pan & near the #2 exhaust pipe clamp. The oil filter is under a starburst oil filter cover, rearward of the oil drain plug. I remove the oil drain plug first to drain the oil, then after draining, temporarily re-install the drain plug, then move the oil catch pan under the oil filter & remove the oil filter. Then remove the oil drain plug again after installing a new oil filter. Be sure to torque the bolts properly & don't over-tighten them to avoid stripping or damaging anything.
Manuals. The owner's manual has info for changing the oil. Also, if you need the Kawasaki service manual, search EB for KZ750 Shaft manual & get the one that covers your year, or at least thru 1984. Kawasaki service manuals have a model application chart on the back cover, so make sure your bike is included on the list. I'm pretty sure the 84 & 85 ZN700 models are virtually identical, so you could get the manual thru 1984. I would prefer the thru-85 manual, but the one thru 1984 should suffice.
