F7 restoration underway
Working on getting a '74 F7 running after sitting in a shed for many years. It's all intact, and in decent shape. I have gone through the carburetor and cleaned the tank carefully. I do get a good spark from the new plug. I know from previous reading that vacuum leaks are a big problem with this bike, but before I start ripping the engine apart, I want to kick it over to see if I can get it to fire at all. Do I need to have the carb cover in place to test start it, or will that create a major leak? Thank you.
