WTB: Beginner Bike (250R) Baltimore MD

Hey all,

This will be my first bike, and I was looking for something a little beaten up (cosmetic wise), and/or used to buy to learn how to ride before I get a new one.

I am willing to travel.

Please E-mail me at [email protected] or PM me on here!!

Thanks guys!!

What's your price range? My neighbor is selling a 250 for $1500, but I don't know if she moved it already. I'll ask tomorrow if it's still for sale.

Just talked with the neighbor. It's a 2001 250R with 11K miles on it. She is the second owner, first owner is a local mechanic. The bike is mint. I was wrong on the price though, she said "I'd like to get 2000 for it."
Probably, she'd take 1500 if you waved cash at her.

I surprised my neighbor today and showed up with my camera to take some pictures / video. Since she didn't know I was coming, she didn't wash / wax / make the bike look perfect. The bike is not as mint as I thought; there is a tiny scratch on the front left, and there is a crack in the plastic on the right side where the original turn signal bumped the garage wall when moving the bike.

Side view. If you look carefully you can see the crack below the turn signal. I didn't notice it until she pointed it out.

Flight Controls view.

Odometer reading. You can see some dust from storage on the controls.

Rear View. You can see the rings where her brother was working on his car and used the seat of the Ninja as a coffee cup holder. What a sin! I'm sure it will wash off with some very mild cleaner.

Here is the tiny scratch in the front left. In this picture it looks massive until you realize that the bolt head in the top right corner is a 10mm. Believe me, it's a tiny scratch made frightening by Nikon zoom.

Here is the same front left section so you can see how invisible the scratch really is. Go ahead, find the scratch!

Here is a picture of the crack that occurred when the stock turn signal encountered the garage wall when she was moving the bike. It's a relatively minor crack, and the inside is epoxy'd so it doesn't rattle or vibrate. It looks worse than it is because of the clarity of the camera.

Same crack, but zoomed in for better detail.

I also took a 360 video of the bike while it was idling so you can hear / see it in action. You can also sorta see her Sportster (hence not needing the Ninja any more) and my Vulcan in the background.
