Helmet?

What helmet does everyone have? And what is the best helmet out at the moment?

I am finding it tricky, as I just got a new bike but want a new helmet now so I look badass. I like some of these www.elitehelmets.com but there out my price range!

I've bought some from www.motorcycle-superstore, com when they've been on sale and sometimes they do have good markdown prices, but I've noticed that helmet prices have generally escalated.

You're shopping for all the wrong reasons. There is no "best helmet" except for the one that fits you properly and that you can wear all day without discomfort.
BetaDnB likes this.

+1

Make sure you go to a store and try on several different helmets. Every manufacturer shapes and sizes their helmets differently. I wear an XL in one helmet, and a xxl in another...I personally love the modular helmets, since I wear glasses, and find it almost impossible to put a normal full face helmet on and get my glasses on. But I never would have known this if I hadn't tried them on first.

@kawasam my best advice on helmets is to go to the store and try them on and find one that fits properly.
Each MFG makes them slightly different in shape and not all sizes are the same. Ignore the price tag.
There's no price you can put on safety and your head. I've crashed more than once, dirt, street etc. (not my fault btw)
I can tell you without a doubt a helmet is worth it's weight in gold any day.

I'm always amazed at people who will spend thousands on mods to go fast but cheap out on a helmet.

But to answer your question I like SHOEI helmets as they fit my head.
But I've had Fulmer helmets as well.

If it's not broke, MOD it.

If you order a helmet, check their return policy. If you order from Bike Bandit and it doesn't fit, you pay shipping to return it and it's expensive. If you buy from Dennis Kirk, they will pay return shipping if it doesn't fit. I learned the hard way.

The only dealers in my area are the Honda/Suzuki dealer and the Harley dealer. The Honda dealer is an extreme butthole and I try not to darken his door.

Yep, I wish that there were a local store which stocks helmets for me to support as well, but the nearest one is two hours distant, and they have gold rush-type prices.
