I hope there's some knowledgable Kawasaki people out there, 'cause I'm unbelieving. My uncle seldom rides his 2000 Vulcan Classic 1500, and after I flushed the fuel tank and carb and changed the oil for the start of the riding season here I fired the bike up and heard some top end noise. A quick ride around the block got me some white smoke, and a spark plug check revealed oil on top of soot. Apparently the engine noise is a normal thing, according to my uncle. I'm flabbergasted because this bike has less than 1700 miles on it, and all service work was performed by the dealer.
Does anyone know of a valvetrain related recall on this model, or do all Vulcan 1500's sound like open-rocker Harleys when they haven't been run for awhile?

re

sounds like it may be a little rich-check the carb tuning

noise is normal from the valvetrain
