7. Air cleaner cover. Also been looking around. But why HD covers? I think it goes to the "HD wanna-be" thing. I rather have unique Vulcan covers if somebody ever makes some.
It's not because they are HD parts (it is aftermarket and doesn't say HD so no poser here), it's because they fit. I wouldn't care if it was for a Sachs moped.

LOL!! Too funny...

I already ordered my LED plate frame. My 900 Custom came with grips and pegs updated already.

I replaced the liscence plate light with a chrome one from wall mart for less than $4.00. My camara is broken so cant post pics. Sorry

Another "el cheapo" mod and this is for any bike. If your bike is a dark color especially, grab the 7 dollar chrome edge strip and attach to the lip of the gas tank. Really brings out the contrast of the bike's colors. Even on my silver 900, I get compliments all the time and the nice thing is, the SOB is cheap!!!!
They can be had on ebay. Bought mine a couple of years ago from a guy in Tennessee.

Lucky...

Great post, I'm a newbie to the forum and I would like to know what it takes to de-badge the bike? I have a black 07 900 Custom and would love to de-badge it but don't want to screw up the paint! I would also like to take the reflectors off the forks........any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Things you need:

1. Hairdryer
2. 20 Lb Test Fishing Line
3. Goo-Gone
4. Micro-Fiber Towel

Step 1: Heat the emblem for 1-2 minutes

Step 2: Take fishing line underneath the emblem and take off

Step 3: There should be clumps of adhesive. Just peel and roll of very patiently.

Step 4: Spray goo-gone over the surface where the emblem used to be

Step 5: Take the micro-fiber towel and wipe off left-over adhesive particles.

The Kawasaki badge is plastic crap which can be easily removed with 10 seconds of heat.

This is what I did and it left no marks at all. I found that this is the easiest process for me to do.

i took off my fork reflectors right away since they were against metal but the rear fender ones i was a little unsure until today, i drilled a small hole in the reflective part of the reflector and broke off all the red which left me with the backing, now i could use my heat gun more effectively since the heat can now get to the adhesive and the backing came off so easy without risk of melting the rear fender.
i also relocated my plate where the rear reflector sits under the plate light, that one only required drilling out the smaller holes where the reflector sat.

I have done all the mods listed but the lens covers. My wife is very cheap and I havn't hit her up for that one yet. I changed the plate mod a little. I removed the light completely and cut the bottom of the plate holder off. Drilled a couple of holes for the plate and put it right under the fender. No gap! I then cut the wires for the light and added 2 led bulbs with shrink tubing. I stuck these bulbs under the fender with thumb gum. They shine right down on the plate and are completely hidden.

Heres a list of all the mods that left me bankrupted!! lol
