Change them out. And plan to lengthen the bar switch wiring harnesses. Even if the stock pieces physically fit with the higher bars (and sometimes they do), you add a considerable strain the the components. I've built a lot of high bar equipped bikes. Trust me on this.

This bike runs 15" bars. New brake hose, clutch/throttle cables, extended wiring harnesses. And the kill switch harness still got torn in half.
