Hello to all. I'm new here so first a little intro. Name is Bob live in RI where we will soon have snow. Made deal with local dealer to trade my 2003 Yamaha V Star 1100 Classic in for the new 2005 1600 Nomad. Also have deposit on bike but there is no bike to be found. Mama Kawa says new 1600 Nomads began shipping to dealers in Nov. My dealer says there are still in Japan. May not be here until Feb. Does anyone here now anything different? Have ther started to arrive? Anyone now much about them? blah, blah, blah
thanks,
bob

not sure about that arrival date, just wanted to say welcome to the forum and make sure you don't think you're being ignored. good choice on the bike, and hopefully you'll have it for the 05 riding season.

Thanks ispeed.
I could buy a leftover 2004 blue/silver that is still sitting on the showroom floor. Real nice looking ride, but I really like the gas tank setup on the 1600. I rode all last winter as long as there wasn't snow to be seen but this year it looks like I'll be warm in my truck. As long as I'm riding by Spring.
I'll keep the forum updated if and when I hear anything
thanks again for the reply - ride safe

My wife and I were at the Seattle International Motorcycle show this last weekend. (12/12/04) As we were walking through the Kaw section I saw the Nomad and went over to drool and was surprised to see it has a 1600cc engine now. I didn't ask any questions about it. I've got another (other brand) motorcycle and would love to have this as a second one. But I don't have room in my garage.

Hello Bob,
My name is Don and I too am new to this forum. I live in Oregon and am also waiting for my new 05 Nomad. At least the weather is lousy so it makes it a little easier to wait. I was told by my dealer that my bike is supposed to arrive in January. I hope he is right.

OlsonBW - I had to wipe the drool off of the seat before I sat on that sweeeet Nomad athe Seattle show. I'll confirm - at least 1 of them exists - Worth the wait if the $$$ are not an issue. I know having it in my garage and NOT being able to ride it drives me nuts.

Good luck and be patient..

I'm in Bend. The weather has been in the 30's and 40's during the day.

I just sold my 04 Vulcan 800 to a friend and am upgrading to the Nomad. It was a very good bike, other than an engine that rattled alot. Stilll managed to put 8000 miles on it in 9 months.

I called around the state and no one has the Nomad in. I got an email today from a dealer that told me Kawasaki was shipping one to them this week. who knows.

I have been riding a lot during the winter, you just have to dress for it. We don't get much rain in central Oregon so if you can stand the cold you can still ride.

Yeah, it's a bit wet on this side of the Cascades. I envy your sun, but not your temps. I'll have to take a ride out there in the spring to check out your new rides. Haven't noticed any rattle in my 800, but it's my first bike so maybe I just don't know any better. Good luck on your purchase.

Hey spok....I bought my 1500 classic near you (Burlington) at a motorcycle dealer named Steel Dreams. They sell some nice hogs there. I was walking around their store drewling from bike to bike when Steve "salesman" who sold me my bike came up and we talked about the different bikes on the floor when I asked him: Who makes these choppers? I quickly said as a guess....does Harley make these? Steve let out a gasp and said....don't get me wrong....Harley has some good bikes....but these are superior to a Harley in every way. I asked him again who made them and he said.....OK....don't laugh! He then said Coleman Camping Company makes their hogs. My jaw dropped as I did a double take. I took a closer look and again I was amazed at the high quality of the fit n finish. He said Coleman is into alot of different things and building hogs is one of them. Who would have guessed? :-?
