My wife wants the smoothest possible ride. I bought a cruiser for her to enjoy the back, so I don't mind some slop traded for smooth.

I have the dampening button on top set at 1. It is the smoothest. The preload (bottom) is at 2. My assumption is that going to 3 or 4 (tighter preload) would tighten the suspension - making sportier, but not smoother. Is that correct?

If so, I am leaving it where it is at 2 - "Good enough" Which, it is pretty good right now, just wondering if it is worth exploring "better."

I am at 220, she is at 120.

IIRC, it comes with no air and shocks set on II, and that is supposedly for 150 rider only.

I have experimented a little. I put in 12 pounds (get the "no loss" hand pump) in each shock and turn it to III when riding 2 up. It works well for me, but rides a little rough when riding solo at that setting.

Just experiment a bit and you'll find a setting that you both like.
