I have a 92 zx7 and I was thinking of mounting a 190/50/17 instead of the 180/55/17. Has anyone done this? How much does it affect the handling?
Thanks.

The P model 7R's (96+) comes with a 190 rear. I have heard of people using a 180 rear on their bikes to "sharpen" handling. I don't think that you will be able to put a 190 on your bike because of the swingarm, but I could be wrong. Follow the 7R Owners Club link in my siggy and ask there. I gaurantee that you will get the correct answer.

do you need more tire? usually when you jump up the tire size you make the handling worse. Im sure the 190 will fit but it wont be shapped like its supposed to. What happens is that your tire will be more flat in the center and roll quicker on the edges. spdrkt , what size rim did the J models come with? If its 5.5 or less i would stick with the 180, you will be happier in the long run.
