1977 KZ1000 Right Side Fork Stop

After the full resto on my KZ, I noticed when turning right, there is no fork stop - making it possible to move the forks into the right side of the tank. Is there supposed to be something there to prevent this?

It might have brokeb off. You may need to weld one back on.
If it were there, where would it be? On the lower triple tree or the neck? With everything cleaned and painted, I can't see where it may have been. Thanks

As it’s only on the one side, it will be a lug on the upper side of the lower yoke that’s missing.

This is a 1983 GPz750 but the principle is the same. I

They stop against this lug on the headstock.

Edit: it’s a little different on the Kz1000, this is from partzilla

Perfect, Thanks?

Yes, mine is the one as shown on Partzilla.

It should touch that round lug on the frame when on full lock such that the bars don’t make contact with the tank. If it doesn’t then either something is bent or broken. A workaround would be to shim either part to create the clearance.

It looks like you’re going a great job of restoring it, it looks a beauty.
