The problem I'm having problems shifting. When I put the bike up on the lift it will shift through all the gears with no problems. But when I try to ride the bike it wont shift. The transmission was just rebuilt and nothing was found to be wrong with it. Any ideas of what the problem could be??

arey you trying to shift the bike without moveing the bike ? alot of bikes will only go to 1st gear if they are not moving/riding.

If I start out in first gear it will not shift into any other gear or out of gear.

check these things.......
clutch adjustment
chain adjustment (esp. this, sounds like it may be too tight)
so if you put the bike on the center stand it will shift fine ? :?:

I checked the chain and it has proper slack in the links, I even checked it when Ihold on a sec
sit on it that is doesnt tighten down and it all checks ok. As for the clutch it appears to engageing and disengageing properly.

Anymore ideas?
