I have a 1979 KZ650-D2 SR and I would like to lower the bike 2 inches at most. Can this be done with this bike and not affect performance or safety?
If so, any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks

You can lower the forks in the triple trees and install shorter shocks on the rear. You can also cut some of the foam out of the seat. And yes, lowering the forks and shorter shocks will affect the handling.

Thats what I thought.. If the front and back is not lowered equally would that effect the float bowls or anything other than handleling? Because, I can deal with a little handeling varience but do not want to mess with the works of the bike.

Depending on how much difference between front and back it could mess with the level in the float bowls and the oil pan.

I had a feeling it would be the case... So if I do decide to lower, it cant be too much and must be precisely even. That could be tricky.. I will have to really consider it.
Thanks so much Stargate!
