Hi all. I am new to this site and reasonably new to Bike mechanics, however am very keen to get a project happening. I am looking at purchasing a 1981 GPZ 1100 B1 which has been stored in a shed for 7 years. It is all in tact but needs a bit of work to get it going. With a mechanical friend of mine we have been trying to fire it up over the last couple of weekends and it does turn over but we have so far encountered fuel pump problems and the latest is starter motor issues which we will tackle this week. From what I have been able to research, it seems that this model has all sorts of issues mainly revolving around the FI system and I am thinking it may be too hard as a first project. It also seems that parts may be difficult to come by so I should look at maybe an easier job first up. Any advice or thoughts anyone? Linton, Perth western Australia.
