Just got the bike and am looking for new parts ( outer shell parts, frame sliders, etc.....). Was wondering what, if any modern bikes might be compatible?

Well, frame sliders are out of the question because of the frame style and I haven't had any luck finding fender eliminators (had to make my own) or anything else.

I have the Lockhart Phillips fairings on mine. They add quite a bit. If you need any extra parts, I've got a spare bike sitting here gathering rust. It has a full set of plastic, Yosh pipe. If you want something give me a holler.

I'd make you a deal on the carbs (jetted pretty heavily) and the Yosh pipe. Carbs need needles and seats and the header on the pipe is a little rusty.

BTW, I'm in Kansas.

With a stock ZX900 you can still do a lot with what you have. Engine performance wise:

1. dynojet kit
2. K&N individual filters
3. New pipe

Those 3 mods alone will give you a lighter bike and higher performance. If you need more information, I will be happy to post. I am currently doing that to my 85 Ninja900.

As far as replacement fairings go, Kawasaki still makes some of the parts and others have been discontinued. You can get an upainted fairing from these guys...

If you want state of the art rear suspension, you could use what the big boys use, but it is not for the faint of heart. Ducati and other race teams use Ohlins and they are considered one of the best if not the best in suspensions!

46HRCLS is there part number - fully adjustable 12mm +/-

I know I should have bought the Lockhart lowers (about 19-20 years ago)
back when I was thinking of doing it, but does anyone know if somebody (haven't called Lockhart/Phillips yet) might have some n.o.s. parts somewhere on the shelf for these bikes?
Thanks

What exactly do you want? Kawasaki still has many parts available for a price of course. Air tech and a few places overseas have some nice carbon fiber pieces.

The Lockhart lowers in particular,
and I might as well get a new windscreen (but I think the windsreens are more readily available from aftermarket sources I believe).
Other than the Super-Trap slip-ons and K&N filter, my bike is still all stock.

LP lowers may take some searching - try some of the larger dealers for that item.

Windscreens can be had via aftermarket or OEM. I just got a Zero Gravity double bubble - They are in Camarillo, Ca.

Most of the Parts unlimited dealers should be able to get you a Supertrap slip ons. Although I recently got a very nice Muzzy full system which is nice as it is stainless steel and much, much lighter than OEM $420.00

K&N can be had on line at http://www.knfilters.com/, if you are going to the individual filters you will need this as well. http://www.dynojet.com/jetkits/kawasakijets.shtml

Replacement Fairings

You should be able to get replacement fairings from www.motobody.com 760-598-3366. I got a full fairing set upper, sides and bellypan for US$330. Kawi wanted CDN$948 for the upper alone.
