close,

andrew i think you are thinking of another bike. the first generation 600r was based off the gpz550 motor but the zx600r(not zx6r) is liquid cooled with 4 valve head but it only put out about 76hp at the crank at 10500rpms. 38ftlbs at 9 grand which isnt bad, (i think those are the right numbers). the bike almost weighed in at 500lbs. first year for the zx6r was 95, totally different beast. but the 600r was good for its day and by no means counted out. now it suffers from 80s tech but you can still get 80s to the wheel with pipe, filter and some major tuning i bet. i dont have any accel numbers for you but id guess 0-60 in under 6seconds.

this is the bike he is talking about

this is your bike

95-97 was the zx6r. or the 600F1-F3 ninja
85-87 was the 600A1-A3

no biggie

No biggie andrew. kawasaki uses very similar names for bikes and its hard to determine the difference, ps, your bike is a sweet ride. a friend of mine raced one very succesfully back in 99. another friend raced a 96. both did excelent. the one on the 95 won amature 600 class for the season.

mistake

andrew i just read your other post. I was mistaken, your bike isnt a 6r, i didnt think they still made that version of the 600r in 95 but i guess they stopped in 97. for some reason i thought it was earlier. they are still two different bikes but alot closer then i thought. i think 88 they changed the frame and riding position even though they look similar, your motor has about 5 more hp then his bike because of a higher compression ratio. after 97 they only carried on the 6R and the 6E.

sorry for the confusion.
