How bad are 1987 ZX10's...or are they called ZX1000 back then? I tried like hell to find specs (HP, torque, top speed, etc etc) but I think I'm looking in the wrong place. Any help would be great guys..and gals.

ZX1000 1987 ??

I think you mean the GPZ 1000RX, also known as the zx1000 Ninja.
I have a 1000 RX myself and have collected some info on them.
The weight full of liquids is 263 Kg
The power in HP are 125
It should be capable of speeds over 260 Km/h
Unlike it's younger brothers like the ZX10 and the ZZR1100 It's not really a so called wheely bike, probably due to the 18" rear and 16"front wheel shifting the weight slightly forward.
Mine has a 4 in 1 exhaust adding about 10 to 15 Hp to the bike and I can do 0 to 100 Km/h in about 3 seconds.

Is that site correct? I checked out my bike (the GPZ version) and it says 5 speeds. My 87 zx1000 is 6 speed.

The air cooled GPz's were all 5 speeds except for the 550's. I find it hard to beleive though that the 1000 was 125 HP. It was the fastest bike in the world at the time and the FJ1100 made 145 HP, but only went 145 - 20 MPH slower than the Ninja 1000. An 85 FZ750 was 115 HP, and the GPz 750 turbo was 117 - soemthing doesn't add up here.
