hi my name is kristian and i have recently bought the above.

i have rebuilt the bike and now cant start it. when i first put it back together it started and was fine. then added all the parts, seat, faren etc etc and went to start it again which it wouldnt. i noticed some wires sticking out the seat so i moved the seat and pushed them back under and was giving me a very weak spark.

now this is where im stumped, on initial turnover of the elec start i get a weak spark then nothing at all. if i then stop and try again it does the same each time. it has a new HT lead and plug and im not that niave with all the rest of the basics having been a owner and rider of bikes for the last 12 yrs. :? :lol:

im thinking it could be the CDI unit, or possibly the pick up coil generator, which i hope its not as these cost a fortune.

i think your on the right track. get a manual and do the tests listed. make sure you stator output etc. is all within spec.
sounds like you pinched a wire when you put all the bodywork back on.
