I'd look for a set of aftermarket fender covers if it were me. I believe they use the main fender bolts to attach (as opposed to the stock covers which use the smaller non-weight bearing screws to attach). If you use the aftermarket billet covers, you should then be able to attach a set of Ghost Brackets to your saddlebags and do away with those tubular saddlebag supports all together. The Ghost brakcets allow you to use your saddlebags, then remove them in a second leaving only a couple studs sticking out of the fender covers.
