Feasable? Just looking into options at the moment. I can find 250 motors all over the **** place but I can't find 500's for ****.
250 motor in a 500 chassis?

It wouldn't run with the 500 electronics? I can probably get the motor and all the running accessories from ebay in a single package, though...

:grin: makes no sense to put a smaller motor than what came original with the bike... if anything you would want to up size the engine

it makes perfect sense IF you have a chassis with a bad motor and a smaller, fit-able motor handy for real cheap.

and isn't the chasis for the 500 and 250 very similar, to the point of being almost identical?

the 250 is much narrower and a fully faired bike. the frames may be similar, but are different. if you can wait until it gets warmer out people will be wrecking bikes left and right, parts will show on ebay.

Yah, but most of the wrecked bikes are gonna be 600+ cc.

I decided to just say screw it. I found a bike in houston with a 6-spoke CBR F2 front end and a 3-spoke CBR swinger and wheel, plus a recently rebuild engine, and a bunch of other ****. I'm just going to pull everythig off that bike and throw it on my girlfriend's bike. It'll give me and her the chance to assemble the whole bike from the ground up...which will be super cool.
