how much play there should there be?

if you take apart the handle you can see that there are two cables connected to your throttle. if i remember right they react to each other (like you pull on one and the other one moves). you can probably fiddle with it and figure it out. i'm not a professional as you can tell.

Check your user's manual. My ZX9R is supose to have about 2-3 mm play.

Thats about right what Green Knight said... 2-3mm and thats what mines seems to be like on my 500.. dont know how to adjust eithe
