I'm rebuilding my families old dirt bike and the only part irreparably damaged is the rubber air intake connector. I believe the part number is 14073-1004. I have checked everywhere online and cannot seem to find one. Does anyone know of one for sale or of an alternative part that can be fashioned on?
Thanks

I've been looking for this same part. Even on Kawasaki Vintage groups when I ask I usually get a few people responding saying that they have been looking for this for years. I think I'm going to end up needing to cut a piece of metal to fit and then fix a rubber air tube to it to the airbox.

Hi

I solved my problem by 3D printing an air connector in soft rubber, just needed to reuse the old metal ring from the old connector.

Thanks

That's awesome. You can probably make a few bucks selling these. I'd be interested. I don't think I have the metal ring with mine so Id have to rig something else.
Hi, the metal ring is inside the rubber. If you have the old part, you need to remove it from the rubber and reuse.
I can sell one to you if you need. Price will be US$ 70 plus shipping (around US$40 to be confirmed).
You can see more pics here:

Excellent! How did you come up with the 3D CAD model? Did you manage to find an old one to measure, or was it just careful measurements of the bike and working from photos?
Hi
I took the old part (from a 1982 KE125) and went to a 3D printing shop. They created the 3D CAD model and printed the piece on soft rubber.

Hi Carlos,

Wow. Nice work! I was thinking of doing this myself but my boot is completely missing and there is nothing to take measurements from. Any chance you would share the 3D STP model? Luckily, I do still have the metal ring that I can use.

Thanks,

Kyle

Unfortunately, I don't have the 3D file. I took the old piece to a 3D printing shop and they drew the 3D file and printed the piece for me. If you want, I can take measurements of my piece.
I will try also to scan it with the smartphone but I'm not sure if it will work.

Thanks

Yes, I'd be interested in getting this if you have the time. I have not seen the 3D smart phone scanning apps before, but that'd be great if you're willing to try. I could could create a "clean" model based on the scan and a few reference dimensions pretty easily. I'd be willing to share the model back to the board so others can 3D print locally. Thanks for the help!

Hi
Unfortunately, the 3D smartphone scanning didn't work :( .
But, if you can manage with french (google translator is top :) ) you can get the same thing from the Maxfa11 member (from France) on the forum AS3-RDX-CLUB :: manchon boite à air KE for 35€. He drew the part and has a printer. Maybe he can share with you the 3D file.
Also if you still interested, I can take reference dimensions and send them to you.

Thanks
Carlos
