My 2000 800 Classic is running rough, particulalry at all speeds, constant throttle. Accelleration is fine - very smooth. I have read much about these bikes being lean from the factory, but should it be this noticeable? If not, any ideas on what to look for?
Well, I checked the rear plug and it looked fine. A little black, but not fouled. There still seems to be a slight miss and every now and then, I get a missfire but only when decelerating. I can feel a little "puff" around the carb. when it missfires.
I have read in many places that these bikes are set up very lean, but I can't see how this would be acceptable. Any ideas? Thanks
actually they are very lean.and my 800 has always coughed alot when
cold.might be a little air leak somewhere around the carb, check all the hoses
it has epa junk that injects air into the exhaust that most folks remove and this stops alot of the cough and backfire -your deceleration pop would lead
me to that first since your plugs looked good
