Just wondering if anyone has advice/tricks to re-installing carbs on a '82 LTD 750? I am having a really difficult time reinstalling the carbs, particularly with the rubber that leads into the air cleaner housing.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

It was a very long time ago that I last did it on a 750LTD - but I think I put the carbs on the induction stubs and fed the air box boots THROUGH the airbox onto the back of the carbs. Then manipulated the back of the rubbers into place on the airbox.
Should be easy with new rubbers!

The hair dryer works and also heat them in boiling water. But the best method is to buy new ones.

Remove the airbox boots and soak them in hot water with fabric softener. Install your carbs. Then put each inside boot through the airbox to the iside carbs then the outside boots. Work from inside the airbox to get them in the right position and seated.
