hello, im new to the forum. just recently aquired a 91 ninja 600 (C) version. it was sittin in front of my frens houz for awhile. i made an offer and it was mine.i recently cleaned the carbs. it runs a lot better but a little rough. when i roll the throttle slowly its alright, but when i roll quickly,it almost dies, or hesitates, stutters, until the engine kicks in, or else it dies. any ideas. when ridin its kinda of slow up to 4rpm, but after that it pulls good. thanks for any input.

your problem is not in dirty carbs.... there not in sync.... you need a sync tool that mesuars the air that each carb is sucking... there pretty cheap if you get a cheap one.... other than that if your not running hot, or dont smell like your running rich your probobly just do for the syncronizing, if each carb is sucking the same ammount of air, then there wont be one or two holding other ones back... witch is probobly what your experiencing

hmmm... with a K&N air filter you might need to rejet... Sometimes you can get dips in your power band but to me this doesn't sound like a dip. *shrug* I just go by the rule that you need to rejet anytime you change the air flow.

There are often similar problems with certain sport quads. It is sometimes due to a too small pilot jet.Since the pilot jets operate at idle to 1/4 throttle, you may want to try one size larger pilots before doing any major work and see if the problem goes away.

Any Kawi dealer can tell you what the OEM size is via his microfisch. I think I would first pull the pilot jet and read the number on it to make sure it is actually the OEM size, especially if you bought the bike used. Then you could buy the next size larger. Don't forget to get a new valve seat also.

The valve seat is the part that the float valve sits in when the float tang closes the valve. Closing the valve shuts off the gas when the float reaches the optimum level. Most people recommend replacing both the valve & the seat at the same time. They shouldn't be more that a couple dollars altogether.

did you remove the gas that sat in frnt yor frns hose, it is nodoubt bad. Spend 10bucks on a set of good plugs. Clean out bad gas refil with high octan gas. Then pull the air box off. start the bike nurse it up to about 6 grand and spray carb cleaner into the rear of each carb, this will stall the motor so you will have to do it in waves. It will smoke black and haze blue If that doesn't fix it you will need to have a shop clean the carbs.
