92 KDX 250 troubles - HELP!!!

I just bought a 92 KDX 250 and the second ride, I submerged it.

Now, I have cleaned the complete top end, blew out all the water and changed the transmission fluid 2 times.

I can get it to start then it just dies....how many times do I need to change out the oil until the water is gone?

After every start, the oil turns white and bubbly.

Any suggestions?

Also, my kick starter is going out, what is prognosis of replacing one of those by myself?

I am mechanically inclined, but dont want to screw up the system.

Remove the exhaust pipe and make sure there is no water in there. Remove your top end again, turn the bike upside down, and turn the crankshaft. CLEAN YOUR CARB! Stupid question...did you dry the air filter?

I have already dumped about 1/2 gallon out of the pipe, cleaned the carb, filter, plug....everything, but I havent turned the bike over and cranked it....I will try that tonight

Check the idler gear and spur gear. Mine were worn on one of mine.
