I'm trying to take off my bikes front fender just encase I want to paint it while it's in storage for the winter.
Do I need to take off the tire to take off the fender, or is there an easier way to do it?

This might sound dumb.... But I almost forgot those were in existence, lol. I've been using a socket wrench for so long that I forgot how useful those could be.

Thanks man!

The open end wrench is easier to get a better angle on the head of the bolt due to the tight space with the front wheel on. The bolts aren't very long - 10 or 12mm - and once you get them broke you can usually spin them out with your fingers.

Don't over tighten them when you reinstall - just snug them up nice. The plastic breaks pretty easily in that area for some reason.

Nice to have some of those "old school" tools around when you need them...
