I've been asking around about a loud clunk sound in my Prairie, A couple of people have confirmed that there's a "damper" in the drive system to prevent damaging the gears in the transmission, but they haven't been able to tell me where the damper is or what part it is.

Would anyone know about this and can you piont me in the rigth direction?

Thanks,

Hi I own a 06 360prairie 4+4 and so does my friend we both have a loud clunking sound coming from the drive train. This happens when traveling strait or down hill over rough terrain. I had mine to the dealer twice and they said that it was totally normal. It really bothers me too.

Many of us who ride motorcycles have switched to synthetic oil as we have experienced a noticeable clunk while shifting into 1st gear. Once we made the switch to synthetic oil the shifting became very quiet. I am using Rotella syntheic oil and buy it at Wal Mart. You can get it in 1 gallon jugs for around $14.00.

Not sure if this is what your experiencing but it might be?
