will 4 stroke transmission oil be sutible for my 250 kawasaki reccomends a 10w-40 or 10w-30 the only oil i could find in my small town was silkolene super 4 which is semi synthetic 4 stroke tranny oil, can i put this in my 1999 kx250 bike, going to be using it for the road and green laning
by the way the bike is 2 stroke!

You can run any type of motor oil. 10- 40 works good in my kx250 . I run what ever is on sale , I usually run castrol , just make sure that on the back it does not say energy conserving in the little circle on the back of the bottle.
You dont have to buy the expensive oil , but i usually change it every week . Thats consists of 1 ride during the week then racing on the weekend. We change it before race day .

thanks for that, just off out for a ride tomorrow and want to change it first, should have sent for some mail order sort of a bit limited on what i can find in town!
