Down here leather is too hot for year-round riding. Most people wear one of the textiles or a hybrid. I myself bought a Joe Rocket Reactor S textile/leather hybrid. This kind of jacket is a throw-away at $179. The first skid usually renders them useless. You sacrifice some reusability for comfort.
