Hi Guy's
I own a vulcan 1500d2 1997,and i'de like to know at what speed you shift your's ? Because when i passe to the second it's make a noise that i dont like.(grinchy noise). At 30 km,and at 20 it's kind of good but you see that the motor torque a lot.If i look to the book when to passe between the gear it' impossible.1 to 2 at 20 km,2 to 3 35 km,and 3 to 4 at 45 km.From the 1 to 2 it's ok,but for the other's the bike is to shaky.

Thank you

Bob

I shift by RPMs. 3000 rpm is when I shift. And to make the shift as smooth as possible with as little cluncking as possible, I've found the best way is to reach your shift point and when you go to shift, don't back off the throttle any, clutch and shift. Of coarse there's some feel to it but it doesn't take long to aquire.

I have no tach so I shift with my ears, well not literally

I tend to shift about 5 MPH over what the manual recommends:
2nd - 25
3rd - 35
4th - 45
5th - 55
