Hi all,

For many years now I have toyed with the Idea of getting a bike adn yesterday my dream came true. A good friend upgraded bikes adn gave me (yes...for free) his old bike. It is a 1985 Kawasaki LTD 700. I have never ridden a motorcycle before so she is waiting for me in the garage until it gets new tires and a clutch cable. I will be signing up for a motorcycle rider instruction adn safety course Monday. Unfortunately the things are booked solid until early October. I will be taking the bike to the huge parking lot across from my townhome to practice on weekends until I feel comfortable enough for the road.

I have had two friends killed on motorcycles so this is an exercise in overcoming fear for me as well.

Wish me luck,
--Tom

get your friend to ride the bike there and you take a car, get one of the members here, or go to your DMV/online DMV, I know CO has one if you need the link you can read the manual online.

Learn the basics from your friend but unless your friend is a certified instructor you dono't want to pick up his/her bad habits so learn the little things on your own.
